Terms & Conditions of Use
Please review these terms carefully before browsing, listing, or purchasing any collectible on Anticue.
CRITICAL SAFETY & LIABILITY NOTICE FOR ALL USERS
Anticue is a completely free classifieds showcase platform. We do NOT charge any listing fees, buyer commissions, or transaction cuts. We are solely an advertising venue that allows collectors to display their pre-owned items.
Buyers and sellers interact directly. Both parties must exercise their highest level of personal intelligence, common sense, and due diligence to investigate items and avoid scams, imposters, or counterfeit goods.
NEVER make advance deposits, send token money, or scan unknown QR codes. Only process payment after you have physically inspected the item in person, verified its authenticity, and are 100% satisfied and certain.
Anticue WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE for any financial fraud, monetary theft, fake transfers, non-delivery, damaged goods, or disputes arising between buyers and sellers. You trade entirely at your own risk.
Quick Navigation
Free Listing Marketplace
Anticue is operated as a free public classifieds and showcase catalog for collectors, antique enthusiasts, and private sellers.
- Zero Fees: We do not charge fees to create an account, upload photos, or publish active listings.
- Zero Commission: When an item is sold, Anticue takes 0% commission. All agreed proceeds belong solely to the seller.
- No Payment Handling: Anticue does not process, hold, escrow, or transmit money between buyers and sellers. All payments occur independently off-platform via payment methods mutually chosen by the parties.
Independent Peer-to-Peer Venue
Anticue operates strictly as an intermediary advertising and communication venue connecting independent private individuals.
Any transaction, negotiation, deal, or physical exchange arranged through WhatsApp, phone call, or email is solely a private contract between the buyer and the seller.
Mandatory User Intelligence & Due Diligence
Because vintage luxury watches, historical antiques, art, and high-value collectibles are subject to counterfeiting, replica production, or dishonest representation, all users are obligated to use their own intelligence, caution, and reasonable investigation.
Buyer Responsibilities:
- Never assume an item is authentic based solely on online photos or seller claims.
- Request detailed photos of movements, hallmark stamps, serial numbers, original boxes, and purchase paperwork.
- Seek third-party professional authentication or expert watchmaker examination for high-ticket pieces.
- Meet in safe, public, video-surveilled locations (e.g. bank branches, established watch boutiques) for inspection.
Seller Responsibilities:
- Provide 100% honest, accurate, and unmanipulated photos and provenance history.
- Clearly disclose any scratches, repairs, aftermarket parts, restored dials, or mechanical flaws.
- Never attempt to pass off replicas, fakes, or re-cased movements as original items.
- Confirm receipt of cleared funds in your bank account before parting with your collectible.
Payment Safety Rules — Process Only When 100% Sure
To protect yourself against modern cyber scams, digital frauds, and social engineering, you must strictly follow these payment safety guidelines:
| ❌ High-Risk Scam Indicators (DO NOT PROCEED) | ✅ Safe Dealing Practices (RECOMMENDED) |
|---|---|
| Seller demands "advance token money", "shipping fee", or "customs clearing charges" before meeting. | Inspect the product physically and complete payment face-to-face. |
| Buyer sends a QR code and asks you to "scan to receive payment" (this will deduct money from your account). | You never need to scan a QR code or enter your UPI PIN to receive money. |
| Buyer sends a fake payment SMS or edited bank screenshot claiming "money is on the way". | Verify real cleared balance directly inside your official banking mobile app. |
| Extreme urgency ("Another buyer is offering more right now, pay instantly or lose it"). | Take your time. Legitimate collectors respect careful due diligence. |
